Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans. About the Category Manager Position As a Category Manager, you are accountable for developing and executing in depth contracting, procurement and materials management strategies for complex projects, goods and services in the assigned oil & gas categories. You are someone who is reliable, able to work independently; detail oriented, well organized and has the ability to negotiate with internal stakeholders as well as suppliers. As Category Manager, you are accountable for approximately $75M in annual spend and requires regular interaction with district operations, project managers, business partners and subject matter experts. What You Get to Do: + Lead teams of cross-functional stakeholders through a structured sourcing process that enables an innovative, cost-effective approach to a focused area of spend. + Develop procurement plans, contracting plans and materials management plans for assigned categories and projects in collaboration with business partners, project teams, district business units and subject matter experts. + Aligns company strategy with procurement actions to achieve company goals and to increase shareholder value. + Develops comprehensive reviews of assigned supply categories including existing and potential supplier profiles, cost and market trends, risk assessments and mitigation strategies. + Negotiate rates, fees, prices to achieve the best overall value for long-term contracts with suppliers for standard and specialty products and services. What You Bring to the Table: + Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering, technical or other closely related field of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education. + Ideally, 5+ years of contracts or procurement experience. + Experience with providing training, mentoring and guidance to other procurement employees. + Experience with creating requests for information (RFI), requests for proposals (RFP), and lead the development of the source selection criteria for competitively bid projects. + Firm knowledge of contract administration. + Gift for understanding and application of total cost of ownership concepts to all projects. + Strong negotiation skills. + Obsession with safety and continually elevating standards through personal integrity, respect, innovation, and teamwork. + Self-motivated, have phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.
