If you align with these values and want to be an employee-owner and invest in your own future and retirement apply online today.A Certified Med-Gas installer is someone who can perform a variety of duties in repairing and installing medical gas systems.Perform maintenance on vacuum pumps, medical air compressors and medical gas manifoldsAbility to perform repairs to medical gas equipment using power and hand tools and other necessary equipmentInstalls medical gas piping and components of the medical gas distribution systemStudies specifications, building plans and shop drawings to determine tools and equipment required and the appropriate sequence of installation. Follows hanger spacing and load requirements based on specs and owner requirementsLocates and marks the position of the pipe, pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using ruler, level, and laserCuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings, using hand and power toolsInstalls sleeves and leave out for roof and wall penetrationsCuts, reams, and solders copper tubing/piping, braze, solvent weld, fuse groove and thread press fittings, grove and pipe-threading machinesAssembles and installs valves, pipes and fittings composed of metals, i.e. irons, steel, copper, brass, lead and non-metals, i.e. glass, vitrified clay and plastic using hand tools and power toolsJoins pipe using mechanical solder, brazing and pipe joining methodsFills pipe systems with water or air and reads gauges to determine system leaksMaintains the work area in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations (should support implementation of 6S).
