The Job

The Director of Studio Resources and Capabilities will be responsible for the overall health and resourcing of Warner Bros. Games studios. They will closely partner with studio heads to develop long-range resource plans and support studios with short-term resource problem solving. This person will collaborate with central teams including talent acquisition, human resources, and university relation to create a world-class talent pipeline in service of game development. The Director of Studio Resources and Capabilities will create efficient resource options for studios through co-development and outsourcing strategies that enhance current efforts and develop new capabilities for Warner Bros. Games. They will also develop programs to assess and support workforce health, working towards diversity, inclusion, satisfaction, enrichment, and an overall great employee experience Warner Bros. Games.

The Daily

  • Develop and implement coordinated development resource strategies & 5-year studio roadmaps in partnership with studio heads and the production team.
  • Develop reliable production KPIs and risk management frameworks that provide early indicators for challenges in development. Deliver regular (monthly) reports and insights on project health to support timely decision making and problem solving.
  • Lead fast, effective decision making for cross-functional decisions that impact studio health and productivity. Lead rapid problem solving and deployment of support to ensure that development needs are met.
  • Create strategies to bring new talent into WB Games. Work with partners like HR and University Relations to develop emerging talent in the studios, partner universities and the broader community. Test and measure new strategies in service of development needs to deliver results.
  • Increase quality and consistency of outsourcing through network building, long-term resource planning and talent management.
  • Improve predictability by enhancing current centralized development programs in areas that are critical for our development teams (e.g. online multiplayer, FX development, animation, cinematics, etc.).
  • Build future-facing capabilities and enhance studio talent through training and inter-studio collaboration.
  • Improve culture and morale through transparent studio health metrics, employee support programs and implementation of diversity and inclusion practices.

The Essentials

  • 10+ years of game studio experience including significant leadership and individual contributions on major products.
  • Demonstrated history of successful personnel management and department-level or higher management roles.
  • Experience working on products that had significant online engagement and revenue.
  • Experience creating and managing project or department budgets. Deep hands-on experience with all aspects of development and associated costs.
  • Demonstrated history of good partnerships and the ability to with external partners through contracts. Track record of good collaboration with partners and influence beyond direct reports.
  • Experience working across departments in a large company to implement company initiatives.
  • Strong analytical perspective and skills to create visualizations that help partners understand rich data. Good presentation skills to build coalitions and support.
  • Objective outlook, willingness to learn and be proven wrong, and focus on measurable results.
  • Passion and vision to create a better work environment and nurture new talent. Commitment and perseverance to implement changes.
  • Regular domestic and international travel to visit studios, development partners and trade events will be required.
