The Senior will prepare documentation, such as financial statements, shareholder reports, and balance sheets, while ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout the organization by working closely with various departments and management. The Financial Reporting Senior may analyze income and expenses, file regulatory reports, provide information to auditors, and issue data used in Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and annual reports. Currently, there are numerous stand‐alone reportersand one public registrant.Financial Reporting Senior ResponsibilitiesPrepares financial statements, including 10‐Q and 10‐K, verifying all transactions and disclosures are in compliance with GAAP and the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC")Develops and implements XBRL processes to ensure the transparency and accessibility of business information to relevant stakeholders.Assists in managing SOX policies and controls and reviews processes related to internal controls over financial reportingPrepares and assists with compliance reporting for banks, investors, and other regulatorsSupports external auditors of prepared financial statementsAnalyzes variance schedules on balance sheet and income statement, including preparing documentation for and writing MD&A disclosuresAssists with developing internal accounting policies and proceduresResearches technical accounting issues as they arise and prepares memo documentation to support research, analyses, and conclusionsEnsures compliance with and maintains analyses and action plans of new accounting pronouncements and standards and SEC guidance, including documenting the company's positionsOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting degree3+ years of audit experience in Big Four or large accounting firm and/or SEC financial reporting within industryPreferred Qualifications:CPA or progression toward CPAStrong knowledge of GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606) and leasing (ASC 842)Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Result oriented, proactive, and possess a high level of integrityStrong research and documentation skillsStrong proficiency in Excel and WordAbility to analyze and interpret data and think outside the boxAbility to manage multiple assignments while working under pressure and time constraintsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExtreme attention to detailSelf‐motivatorOpenness to coaching and mentoringBenefits: Sunnova offers a generous employee reward package that includes:Comprehensive benefitsCompetitive compensation & annual bonusPaid time off, including 10 holidays and Paid Parental LeaveCell phone allowance for many rolesFree access to onsite fitness center in Houston and/or discounted fitness memberships through health providerComplimentary garage parking in HoustonLocation: Houston, TXWe are an equal employment opportunity employer.
