Performs role to drive improved Fuel, Lost, and Unaccounted-for-gas (FL&U) performance across the MidCon assets to include Oklahoma, Kansas, and the Texas panhandlearea. Develops FL&U standard operating procedures, disciplined processes, and advanced predicative analytical tools for the region that will also be shared across the Northern Value Chain. Works in very close collaboration with the regional Area Directors, Area Managers, Measurement Supervisors, Plant/Field Supervisors, Integrated Collaboration Center (ICC), and assets operating and maintenance teams.


  • Analyzes field gathering and plant Supervisory Control and Data Acquistion (SCADA) measurement system data to determine sources of FL&U, and validates and then escalates issues that need to be be addressed

  • Utilizies Liquid and Gas sampling methodology to drive consistency

  • Assesses compressor fuel efficiency (fuel use divided by gas compressed) to determine optimal online horsepower for the volume being compressed - via automated links to flow-cal

  • Provides daily and weekly Lost and Unaccounted for (L&U) reports

  • Supports plant and field leadership when necessary to mitigate losses

  • Works with Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR) technicians to identify field and plant leaks

  • Assists operations leaders in identifying pipe segments that may potentially be idled/abandoned to eliminate L&U

  • Actively learns the various applicable field footprints to improve performance in the role

  • Uses Maximo to generate corrective workorders and to draft preventive maintenance strategies as needed to prevent L&U

  • Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor%26rsquo;s Degree and/or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience is required although employees typically have 7-12 years; oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of American Gas Association (AGA) liquid and gas measurement standards
  • Must be fully proficient in the following software programs:
  • Highly proficient with flow-cal, geo portal, and XMap software programs
  • Developing leadership skills and ability to influence at a local level and across a broad organization
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


  • This role primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. The noise level is typically low. Frequently in a stationary, sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Regularly moves about inside the office to complete tasks, attend meetings or to access the copy machine or file cabinets. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the office. Occasionally may lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
  • This job operates in both inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. The noise level may be loud at times. Regularly stoops, squats, kneels, and crouches for durations up to 3 minutes. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the gas plant. Occasionally exerts a pulling force of 130 pounds. Frequently may lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Occasionally may climb A-frame ladders.
  • Occasional travel will be required
