The analyst will be responsible for ensuring that all functions related to the transportation of natural gas to utility systems takes place in an accurate and timely matter. This will include forecasting forward gas consumption as well as considerable interaction with both internal and external customers. The analyst will have to make decisions and transact in a very time sensitive and deadline driven environment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Analyze flow data received from utilities and reconcile issues & imbalances related to that data.
  • Develop and utilize appropriate forecasting models & strategies to project customer requirements under various conditions.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with natural gas utility contacts to ensure a cooperative approach to the resolution of problems.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with large customers to anticipate the impact of operational changes on forecasted gas volumes to minimize exposure.
  • Gain & maintain a complete understanding of operational & commercial aspects of LDC gas tariffs with respect to impacts on scheduling requirements.
  • Assist in automation of processes as well as testing of internal application enhancements related to the scheduling function.
  • Ad-hoc analyses & reporting as requested.

Working Conditions:

  • Provide 24/7 support as part of rotating on call schedule to support internal and external partners.
  • Deadline-oriented environment requiring fast paced decision making.
  • Hybrid office environment .
  • Periodic travel as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma with 2 or more years of gas scheduling or analytical experience or bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
  • Strong quantitative, analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with SQL, VBA and/or Python
