Plains is looking to fill the position of HSE Training Supervisor. Managing a team of four instructional designers and reporting to the HSE Manager, Training and Qualification, the successful candidate will manage needs analyses; design and develop training; and work with SMEs and the business to create classroom, eLearning, live, and on-demand virtual training, job aids, and tools. In addition, the successful candidate will establish measurable objectives and expected outcomes for all new training courses and programs. This is a hybrid role combining work at our Houston corporate office and working from home. Responsibilities: Provide guidance for developing training courses, events, and programs to meet or exceed regulatory requirements, best practices, and established standards. Assess the current and desired state of training, identify gaps, evaluate, and recommend solutions to improve skills and performance. Identify learning objective and desired performance outcomes. Manage the development of instructional and participant materials. Work with manager to prioritize key projects that align with technical learning needs. Lead and monitor projects to include scoping, design, development, testing and launch. Partner with the business and SMEs to develop and review training curriculum. Lead initiatives for authoring eLearning content in Articulate Storyline 360, Camtasia, and Adobe applications, using course templates and following all development standards for color scheme, graphic design, and functionality. Provide technical assistance and answer questions regarding training courses, plans, and initiatives. Supervise the testing and posting of new content. Work directly with internal Information Services team to prioritize and resolve technical support needs and requests. Collaborate with manager in the budgeting process and provide input for training needs and resources. Manage performance and develop people. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field, or minimum of 6 years in an Instructional Design role. 5 years' experience in Instructional Design. 2+ years in a leadership capacity. 2+ years' experience in pipeline operations with working knowledge of pipeline operations and regulations applicable to liquid and gas transportation, trucking, gas storage, and gas processing. Able to collaborate and build relationships between difference functional groups and departments and work effectively with people of varying backgrounds at different levels of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication, especially technical writing. Strong creativity and innovation, including excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated application of ADDIE, adult learning theory and techniques, development, and evaluation processes. Proficiency in MS Office suite and desktop publishing. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
