Administer monthly payments, receivables, and contract obligation functions for the Land Department. Provide technical and administrative support to the Land Manager and other Land Department personnel, including proof-reading documents, creating reports, inputting oil & gas contracts, creating files, and conducting other responsibilities as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for the management and inventory of the department•s physical files • Responsible for creating, shelving, removing, tracking, and restocking physical files • Generate and maintain critical reports: acreage, expiration, rentals, receivables, etc. • Lead efforts to address monthly contract obligations and monitor progress for pending deadlines, openly communicating with Land team personnel & other stakeholders • Prepare correspondence and proof-read contracts, memos, etc. upon request • Prepare and circulate monthly critical well list • Support research projects by locating and summarizing various contracts as needed • Prepare and secure appropriate approvals for various governmental forms associated with federal and state leasing requirements in conjunction with Land Analyst or Landmen • Responsible for recording documents with the county recorder, in coordination with the Land Analysts and Landmen • Prepare and/or assist in preparing presentations, custom spreadsheets, and reports • Assist GIS Technician in creating maps and plats in based on varying contract information • Schedule and organize department and/or partner meetings as needed • Conduct Land•s portion of the change of status to wells as necessary • Provide contract input into QLS under the direction of the Land Analysts or Landmen • Responsible for professionally addressing outside party inbound and outbound phone and email inquiries, collaborating with Owner Relations and Land team personnel as necessary POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; college preferred • Minimum of 2 years• experience with oil and gas exploration and production Land or Land Administration Department, oil and gas brokerage firm, or oil & gas legal firm • Knowledge of Quorum preferred • Notary Public for the State of California a plus • Familiarity with oil & gas terminology • Knowledge of public land regulations a plus • Strong analytical skills • Self-starter, motivated • Excellent computer software skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint); knowledge of SharePoint • Able to multitask and work independently or with limited supervision on concurrent and/or consecutive projects • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and respond to the public in a professional and courteous manner. • Demonstrate initiative to identify and solve problems and strong bias towards action and not letting open problems/issues remain unresolved; highly self-motivated. • Commitment to follow up, including follow up to ensure compliance with SPR requests for data, completed forms and information.
