STV Energy Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Specialist with at least 5 years of relevant experience with an engineering degree from an accredited engineering school. The selected individual will be a self-starter and eager to learn areas such as Code of Federal Register (CFR), Parts 192 and 195 as well as B31.4, B31.8 and API 1104. The candidate will learn details of the difference pipe coating both internal and external.

Duties will include:

Create data sheets and specifications for equipment, tanks, vessels, pipe, valves, fittings and other components.
Develop mechanical design packages for projects including plot plans, process flow diagram (PFD), piping and instrument diagram (P&ID), and major equipment list. Interface with sub-contractors o detailed design when other firms are involved.
Understand and learn industry standards, applicable regulatory codes and requirements, and company standards while doing the designs.
Participate and support the team in developing project proposals, schedules and estimates.
Participate in HAZOP/PHA reviews, to learn that the designs are in accordance with industry codes and Company policies.
Responsible for pipe sizing calculations, valve sizing, hydrostatic test design; hydraulic design, compressor designs, pump designs, interactions with regulatory and permitting agencies as well as other pipeline engineering support. Specify materials and equipment for purchase, using data sheets when required. Write equipment specifications for purchase when required.
The Engineering Specialist shall have some experience in engineering and design of oil and gas midstream related facilities:
pipeline metering facilities
gas compression facilities
Liquid pump stations (crude and NGLs)
Filter separators
Excellent written, verbal communication and organization skills.
Work on two or more interdisciplinary projects at once while effectively managing time and prioritizing project deliverables.
Any process experience is a plus.

Technical Competencies:

Have computer experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, PowerPoint, and Excel Work products.
Experience with Pipeflo Professional, Synergee hydraulic modeling and/or Caesar II or AutoPIPE pipe stress modeling programs a plus.

Experience and Education Requirements:

Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
Possess at least 5 years of relevant experience in oil or gas.

Certificates and & Licenses:

Must be able to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license
