Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Strategic Planning Office team: Develop and maintain a catalog of prioritized strategic market trends, threats, and opportunities for further research and analysis Perform research and analysis on prioritized topics Recommend, initiate, plan, and execute research projects Perform research, collect data, and synthesize findings from publicly available external resources, including: industry publications, academic research, market sources, and government reports Organize and maintain research files Identify and recommend specific subject matter expert interviews opportunities Perform ongoing review and tracking of identified industry trends key developments Federal, state, and local policies, legislation, and grant funding opportunities New technologies performance and/or cost improvements Peer utilities responses: public plans, filings, communications, new programs Support the Strategic Planning Office in staffing subject matter expert interviews and meetings; summarize key discussion points, decisions, and action-items Develop professional, succinct research reports, summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommended next steps for selected topics Prepare and provide executive presentations on research projects and key findings Perform other duties as assigned and special projects utilizing specific skill-sets or areas of expertise Qualifications: Currently working towarda Graduate degree in a Business Administration, Public Administration/Management/Policy, Economics, Environmental Studies, or related field, in good academic standing Must have strong research, and verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to read, grasp, understand, compile, analyze, and summarize information in a methodical manner. Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others in the best interest of PGW while maintaining professional effective business relationships Must have problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative to solve problems and complete tasks as they arise, and exercise sound business judgment Must have organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and usually under short deadlines.
