Our excellent client is looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Technicianwho will support the Gas System Operations by providing design review, support ofspecification development and overall field support of gas distribution instrumentation and controls. The selected individual will be expected to have a working knowledge of natural gas systems which includes: actuated valves, transmitters, PLC and DCS systems. Working with related discipline engineers, project management staff and contractors, the IC Engineering Tech will provide hands on support in the selection, installation, calibration, repair and maintenance of natural gas related equipment. Will utilize process knowledge to support the safe and reliable maintenance and selection of equipment. The IC Engineering Tech will be expected to work independently and review and create documents providing comments, markups to ensure the Gas System Operations requirements are being meet. This position is multi-faceted with responsibilities that will vary dependent on project or current gas system needs. The IC Engineering Tech will report directly to the Gas System Operations Manager.RESPONSIBILITIES:Participates in gas system operations project meetings, staying informed of status and activelysupporting technical needs as the Gas System Operations instrumentation and controls SME.Supports the company's Plant LNG & LPG facilities as necessary to troubleshoot problems relatedto installed systems.Be knowledgeable with the plant specific requirements of NFPA 59A, 70E, 40 CFR 192 &193,Article 500 of the NEC and other applicable codes and standards.Supports & drafts the development of new process and equipment procedures.Supports the execution of projects related to system controls, new valve installations, SCADA & Plant computer systems, secure networks, field site security systems, instrumentation and other related projects.Helps coordinate and supervise internal and external resources necessary to ensure materials,equipment and services are available and used to support work as necessary.Qualifications:Experience working as part of a natural gas engineering, maintenance, plant or constructionproject team in support of power, manufacturing or process plant construction andmaintenance.Must deal with short time frames and handle multiple competing priorities.Must have worked within a safety sensitive & DOT program.Must support on site activities, monitoring quality and providing feedback.Must have a strong ability to interpret drawings and other technical documents.Must have a strong understanding, as it relates to instrumentation and controls, of the technicalprinciples of AC and DC power, hazardous area classifications, instrumentation, actuated valves,fiber optics, analog and digital controls and systems, and other engineering skills as they relateto remote operations.Requires some written and oral communication skills, effectively interfacing with stakeholders.Education/Experience:Degree in electrical, computers, mechanical, chemical, process, petroleum, or other relatedengineering discipline, plus five (5) years' work experience; ORMinimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience in instrumentation and controls maintenance and installation as related to energy based remote operations.Department of Transportation Code Of Federal Regulations 49 CFR Part 191, 192 & 193 trainingor relevant work experience.Licenses & CertificationsValid Driver's License (Required)Massachusetts Master or Journeyman Electrical License (Preferred)ISA Certification (Preferred) REMOTE THROUGH COVID
