As the Shift Manager - Air Gas and Water (AGW) Control Systems, you will provide technical expertise for AGW and plant instrumentation and control systems and be accountable for the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of control equipment at the Cleveland-Cliffs Burns Harbor plant AGW utility systems

Summary of Responsibilities:

* Ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards
* Coaches employees in safety and good housekeeping practices
* Performs safety, quality, and environmental audits on a timely basis
* Works with AGW (MTE) bargaining unit team members to ensure that the AGW and plant utility systems are functioning properly and efficiently
* Specific technical responsibilities include:
* Coordinating the design, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems for AGW / plant utility system equipment
* Developing and executing purge procedures for plant utility equipment
* Maintaining and calibrating AGW / plant utility environmental sampling equipment and instrumentation
* Programming and maintaining plant radio equipment and associated frequencies
* Maintaining and calibrating plant truck scales
* Coordinating the design, installation, and maintenance of AGW / plant utility camera systems for monitoring various processes

* Oversees a team of 15-20 BU employees
* Coordinates training of MTE instrumentation personnel
* Schedules hourly personnel, ensures that the turns are adequately staffed, and coordinates overtime as required by workload
* Participates in daily meetings with AGW and plant personnel to prioritize and provide feedback on associated work

* Writes work orders to identify needed maintenance repairs
* Writes requisitions to order tools, parts, needed supplies, and work requiring contracting out
* Writes and utilizes standard procedure documents
* Assists with locking out equipment for maintenance repairs, and planned repair outages

Minimum Requirements:

* 3 years experience within a heavy industrial production related field
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Awareness of industrial instrumentation and control schemes
* Awareness of electronic systems including camera systems, radios, and radio frequencies
* Needs team building, problem solving, and decision-making skills
* Ability to effectively work in a team-oriented environment
* Proficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office
* Associates degree in applicable engineering discipline

Preferred Requirements:

* 5+ years experience working in a large scale diverse plant utility system
* 5+ years experience working with electronic systems including camera systems, radios, and radio frequencies
* Successful track record working with a represented workforce in a heavy industrial setting
* Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office products
* Solid understanding and experience with industrial instrumentation and control schemes
* Solid understanding and experience with electronic systems including camera systems, radios, and radio frequencies
* Experience in PLC control system design, programming, and troubleshooting
* Experience in industrial instrumentation and automation installation and troubleshooting
* Experience purging fuels
* Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day-to-day operations
* Knowledge of safety and health policies including key components of the OSHA regulations
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical technology
