Description

Coronado Natural Resources LLC is seeking an exceptional Sr. Title Landman (Powder River Basin) to join our team in Denver, CO.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Location: Denver, CO (this is not a remote position)

About Us (The Company History, Current Plans and Culture)

In 2018 I left my corporate job to start this company. I didn t raise any outside money and used my personal savings to fund initial expenses. Our focus then, as it is now, is buying oil and gas minerals and royalties directly from landowners in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming.

Today the company has a stable asset base and we are ready to hire rockstars to continue our growth.

This is a results only work environment. We don t get bogged down tracking hours, policing dress codes, etc. We are relentless in our pursuit of business goals. Average performers will hate it here and be asked to leave. Exceptional individuals who work hard will succeed and be rewarded for it.

About You (The Ideal Candidate):

  1. Love running title
  2. Love working hard
  3. Near flawless attention to detail
  4. Relish the idea of being part of small team where your contributions are highly visible and directly impact the organization
  5. Excited to compete against organizations that have larger teams, and more resources
  6. The thought of missing a title defect causes you physical pain

About the Job:

  1. Run title and run title some more! I.e. Research BLM, State, county and internal records and analyze and interpret relevant documents necessary to "chain" title from patent to present in order to produce timely, high-quality, reports identifying the owners of oil and gas minerals, royalties and other oil and gas interests within sections of land
  2. Lead high-pressure and arduous due diligence projects where you will identify potential title defects and work to cure them
  3. Engage and manage 3rd party land teams and outside legal counsel, as needed
  4. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of evolving title statutes and provisions that may impact the treatment of certain title issues

You Should Have Experience Doing the Following:

  1. 5+ years of experience running patent to present title in Wyoming or other "BLM-heavy" states, with strong expertise in HBP leases with multiple severances, and difficult chains of title, that often differ between county and BLM records. Experience in Converse and/or Campbell County, WY is a plus, but not a requirement
  2. "BLM Experience" i.e. Comfortable reviewing BLM files to determine ownership under Federal oil and gas leases. Must understand the impact Exploratory Units, Communitization Agreements, Participating Areas, etc. have on the various oil and gas interests that are subject to them.
  3. Determining ownership of oil and gas minerals, royalties and specifically overriding royalty interests. Identifying title defects relating to the same.
  4. Determining the impact of regulatory actions (spacing, pooling, etc.) on the various oil and gas interests that are subject to them.
  5. HBP Checks, reviewing lease terms, "applying" intestate succession laws.
  6. Performing searches on Idoc, LR200, GLO Records, OSLI-WY, Enverus, and WOGGC s Data site.
  7. Working with technology such as CRM platforms, Google and Microsoft suite.

You Need the Following Skills to Succeed at this Job:

  1. Ability to meet specific deadlines, daily and weekly, based on changing company needs
  2. Adept at the learning and application of new software technologies
  3. Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills and experience working with a broad range of people
  4. A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, accountability and independent judgment
  5. Focus on priorities, setting objectives and goals, measuring performance and evaluating results
  6. Energetic, empowers others, and shares ownership and accountability for project outcomes
